Event Terms and Conditions
EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Beloved friends,
Below is a standard agreement between host and guest for an international retreat. Those of you retreating often will find this par for the course. For those of you making the leap for the first time, please forgive the “legalese” used on this page. It is written that way simply for the sake of clarity, which serves us all!
Please do not overlook the recommendation to purchase travelers insurance for the trip. It is inexpensive and worth every penny!
In this agreement, you are referred to as “Guest” and Shelly Ann Reif is referred to as “Shelly Reef”. "Event" refers to a paid live event, usually a multi-day retreat or training.
It is the Guest’s responsibility to read and understand the cancellation and refund policies and all terms before making a reservation.
Shelly Reef highly recommends travel cancellation insurance should your travel plans change.
Travel insurance can be purchased through your travel agent, or you can visit InsureMyTrip.com or WorldNomads.com for additional information.
It is the Guest’s responsibility to keep all their relevant travel documentation with them and arrive at the airport in time.
Shelly Reef is not liable for travel costs under any circumstances, and accepts no responsibility for the delay or cancellation of any flights, train, buses or other forms of transport.
The Guest shall not use the property except as permitted and shall not use the property for any offensive, noisy, dangerous, illegal, immoral or improper purposes.
The Guest shall not do anything which may be a nuisance or annoyance to other Event guests or staff.
Shelly Reef retains the right to terminate a Guest's access to an Event, without refund, should said Guest no comply with the terms laid out in this agreement.
The Guest must comply fully with all and any health and safety regulations introduced by Shelly Reef.
The Guest must ensure their own medical and physical fitness in order to be able to fully utilize the provided facilities and participate in activities.
Guests who have injuries or illnesses are advised to seek doctor’s advice before practicing yoga.
Shelly Reef is not liable for any injuries incurred during the use of provided facilities or participation in activities. Guest must inform the teacher of any previous injuries, and always stop and rest when feeling any pain or sickness.
Shelly Reef accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of personal possessions or valuables of the Guest.
Shelly Reef shall not be liable for any failures beyond her control.
This covers natural disasters, war, ‘acts of God’, closure of airports, civil strife, accidents or failure to perform by third parties, including suppliers and subcontractors.
EVENT CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
If the Guest pays using an installment plan, an initial deposit is required to hold the Guest’s reservation, and this initial deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable (unless the event was cancelled by Shelly Reef).
Any balance due and must be received 30 days prior to the first day of the Event. Those paying less than 30 days prior to the Event must pay in full.
If the Guest cancels their reservation
Regardless of the circumstances of the Guest or reason for canceling, the following refund schedule applies.
-
Cancellation 45 days or more prior the first day of the event:
Guest receives a full refund of payments made less the deposit. -
Cancellation 30-45 days prior:
Guest receives a 50% refund of payments made less the deposit. -
Cancellation 15-30 days prior:
Guest receives a 50% refund of payments made less the deposit. -
Cancellation less than 15 days prior:

If payment in full for a Guest’s Event reservation is not received by the due date given at the time of registration, Shelly Reef reserves the right to cancel the reservation and retain the deposit.
Neither credit nor refunds will be granted for arriving late or leaving early.
There are no exceptions to the above cancellation policies including personal injuries or weather.
If Shelly Reef cancels an event
Naturally, there is no intention or expectation to cancel or postpone an Event, but unexpected things do happen, so please purchase travel cancellation insurance once you have made your reservation.
While Shelly Reef has never cancelled a destination event to date, if a booked Event must be cancelled for any reason, your full Event payment may be credited toward payment for another Event by Shelly Reef in the future, or you may request a refund of your payment to Shelly Reef, constituting a full settlement.
Shelly Reef will not be held responsible for any additional travel expenses incurred in preparation for cancelled Events, including airline tickets, travel delays, flight cancellations or illness.
